Wilson Memorial Hornets Girls Tennis Dominates Fort Defiance

The Wilson Memorial Hornets girls tennis team secured a dominant victory over Fort Defiance on Thursday, winning 8-1 in a display of skill and determination. The Hornets’ strong performance left Fort coach John Edgecomb impressed, acknowledging Wilson as one of the top teams in the Shenandoah District.

In the singles matches, Wilson Memorial’s players showcased their talent with impressive victories. Brynlee Roach, Alison Troxell, Iris Chen, River Cranford, and Grace Godette all secured wins for the Hornets. The doubles matches were equally successful for Wilson Memorial, with Babral/Troxell, Roach/Cranford, and Godette/Cameron emerging victorious.

Staunton’s Elias Hardy and Sawyer Tuttle clinched the crucial victory with a 7-5 tiebreaker win at No. 2 doubles.
