Tennis Fans Shocked as TV Broadcast Shows Beach Instead of Estoril Open Tennis Match

Tennis fans tuning in to watch the Estoril Open got a surprise when they were greeted with images of women in bikinis on the beach instead of the tennis action they were expecting. Broadcasters and organisers issued a swift apology after viewers found themselves watching Portuguese beachgoers wading in the sea instead of the tennis matches.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 3, leaving many fans frustrated and venting their grievances on social media. One fan took to Twitter to express their disbelief, calling the tournament “complete nonsense” for losing the live broadcast of matches and instead showing the beach scene.

Fortunately, the issue was quickly resolved, and fans were able to refocus their attention on the tennis matches. Among the notable performances at the Estoril Open was Marton Fucsovics and Arthur Fils catching the eye with some great displays on the court.

In a significant moment from the action, Fils beat Joao Sousa, who bid farewell to his fans as he retired from men’s singles competition. The 35-year-old tennis pro had a successful career, reaching the fourth round in major tournaments and once being ranked in the top 30.

Fils praised his opponent, saying, “I want to congratulate Joao for his amazing career. It’s unbelievable.” Sousa, who won the Estoril Open in 2018, expressed gratitude for the support from fans and the organization, making it a memorable moment for both players and spectators.
