In a whirlwind of athletic competitions spanning across 15 sports and seven U.S. states, the Princeton Tigers showcased their prowess on the field from April 18th to April 26th. With a total of 33 games and matches played, the Tigers emerged victorious in 81.25 percent of matches and 80 percent of games within the Ivy League, marking a standout week for the team.

One standout player who shone brightly during this period was sophomore Riccardo Fantinelli, who clinched the Ivy League Player of the Year title in golf. Fantinelli’s stellar performance throughout the season, with an average score of 70.9 over 21 rounds, culminated in this prestigious award. His win at the Princeton Invitational and three top-ten placements solidified his position as a force to be reckoned with in Ivy League golf.

The women’s tennis team also made headlines by securing their fifth consecutive Ivy League championship with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Harvard. Led by first-year Madeleine Jessup, who clinched a crucial singles match in a deciding third set, the Tigers displayed resilience and determination on the court.

In men’s lacrosse, senior goalie Michael Gianforcaro showcased his skills with a remarkable backhand shove shot that sealed a crucial victory over Penn. His 15 saves in the game were instrumental in propelling the team towards their postseason aspirations.

Additionally, first-year golfer Charlie Palmer was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Year, joining a prestigious list of Tiger athletes who have excelled in their debut seasons.

As the spring sports season reaches its climax, the Princeton Tigers continue to dominate on the field, setting the stage for an exciting finish to the semester. Stay tuned for more updates on Princeton athletics as the teams gear up for the final stretch of competitions.
