As the postseason approaches for select spring sports, the competition is heating up and league titles are still up for grabs. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights from the past week in the world of sports.

In prep fastpitch softball, Sedro-Woolley is dominating the Northwest Conference with a 15-1 record, pulling away as the favorite to win the league title. However, teams like Lynden, Blaine, and Mount Baker are hot on their heels, with all three teams boasting nine league wins each. Mount Baker recently defeated Blaine 7-4, snapping the Borderites’ six-game win streak.

In boys soccer, Sehome finished the regular season undefeated with a 13-0-1 record, securing the NWC title. Squalicum and Bellingham are close behind, with Squalicum earning the No. 2 seed over Bellingham by a half-game. In Class 1A, Lynden Christian locked down the top seed for the district tournament after a strong finish to their season.

On the tennis courts, Lynden girls tennis secured their second NWC title in program history, with an impressive 15-0 record. Sehome, Bellingham, and Squalicum are also performing well in the standings.
