Boughton Park Lawn Tennis Club Receives National Recognition for Outstanding Youth Programme

Boughton Park Lawn Tennis Club in Worcestershire and Herefordshire has been making waves in the tennis community as it becomes the first club in the region to receive recognition for its outstanding youth programme. The club has been awarded the prestigious LTA Youth Programme status, setting it apart as one of the top venues for young tennis players in the Midlands.

With only 20 clubs nationwide receiving this honor, Boughton Park is truly in a league of its own. The club’s dedication to providing high-quality coaching and competitive opportunities for young players has not gone unnoticed. Head coaches Tina Manning and Sarah McCormick, along with chair Jean Walters and safeguarding officer Jo Ringshall, have worked tirelessly to ensure that the junior programme meets the highest standards both on and off the court.

In celebration of this achievement, Boughton Park is inviting children aged four to 16 to come and experience tennis for themselves with a free taster session. The club hopes that this recognition will encourage more young people to take up the sport and enjoy the benefits of playing and staying in tennis.

LTA chief executive officer Scott Lloyd commended Boughton Park for their dedication to the LTA Youth Programme, stating that the club’s efforts are a credit to both the LTA and tennis in Britain. Participation development partner Van Willerton also praised the club’s head coaches and management team for their inspirational work in making tennis fun, social, and engaging for all players.
