Exclusive Conversation with Tennis Legends Novak Djokovic and Rohan Bopanna on Firstpost

In a rare and exclusive conversation, two of the oldest World No 1s in men’s tennis, Rohan Bopanna and Novak Djokovic, will be featured on First Sports with Rupha Ramani on Tuesday at 7 PM IST. Both players have defied age and expectations to reach the pinnacle of their sport, showcasing their longevity and skill on the court.

Bopanna, at 44, made history by becoming the oldest World No 1 during the Australian Open and further solidified his position by reclaiming the top spot with a title in Miami. Djokovic, at 36, surpassed Roger Federer as the oldest man to be ranked No 1 in the ATP Tour’s computerized rankings on Monday, with a total of 420 weeks at the top spot.

Despite his age-defying achievements, Djokovic has had a mixed year on the court, with early exits at the Australian Open and Indian Wells. Off the court, he recently ended his four-year association with former Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic. In contrast, Bopanna and partner Matthew Ebden have had a stellar year, clinching titles at the Australian Open and the Miami Open.

By winning the Miami Open, Bopanna secured his sixth ATP Masters 1000 crown and became the second Indian, after Leander Paes, to reach the final of all nine Masters 1000 tournaments. His triumph in Miami also made him the oldest Masters 1000 champion, showcasing his enduring talent and determination.

Tennis fans will not want to miss this exclusive conversation between two legends of the sport as they discuss their remarkable careers, achievements, and future goals. Tune in to First Sports on Tuesday to hear from Rohan Bopanna and Novak Djokovic in what promises to be an engaging and insightful discussion.
