Central Mountain Dominates Milton in Doubleheader Tennis Match

Central Mountain boys tennis team showcased their dominance in a doubleheader against Milton on Friday afternoon, despite the challenging weather conditions. The Wildcats swept both matches with 5-0 victories, displaying their strength in both singles and doubles play.

Senior Asher Talbot stepped up to the No. 1 singles spot and delivered impressive performances, securing wins in both matches with scores of 6-1, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-2. Joey McCluskey also stood out in No. 2 singles, showcasing strong swings and returns to claim victories of 6-2, 7-6 (6-4) and 6-2, 6-3.

The Wildcats rotated players in singles No. 3 but continued their dominance with Tim Brinker and Joe Caimi both securing convincing wins. In doubles action, Caimi and Wesley Cowart, as well as Ben Brinker and Mitchell Borges, displayed excellent teamwork to secure victories in both matches.

Coach Brinker commended the team’s performance, highlighting their focus and determination throughout the matches. Despite the challenging weather conditions, the Wildcats remained unfazed and focused on executing their game plan.

Talbot, in his final season with the team, showcased his experience and skill in the top singles spot, leading by example and setting the tone for the team. His improved footwork, serves, and power on returns made him a formidable opponent on the court.
