Top Contenders and Returning Champions Set to Shine in LHSAA State Tennis Championships

The final two days of the LHSAA state tennis championships are shaping up to be an exciting showdown, with returning champions Natalie Devraj and My-Anh Holmes leading the pack in the girls draws.

Mandeville senior Natalie Devraj, a three-time Division I singles title winner, is favored to add another title to her impressive resume. On the other hand, Willow junior My-Anh Holmes has won the past two Division II singles titles and is looking to make it a three-peat.

In the team competition, Jesuit and Brother Martin are expected to be top contenders in Division I. Both schools advanced their full regional rosters to the state tournament, with Jesuit clinching the team championship at a tough regional event. Brother Martin’s junior Mitchell Armbruster put up a strong fight in the regional finals, setting the stage for an intense team points competition between the two schools.

The Division I girls field will also feature strong contenders from Mount Carmel and Dominican, with standout players like Abby Galloway, Emily Cohn, and Avery Wicker vying for the title.

In the Division II boys and girls fields, George Gibson of Willow, Nathan Tejas Hinkle, Peter Simonov of Ben Franklin, and Claire Cancienne, Avery Lewis of Hannan are all regional champions to watch out for.
