Stuart Bingham and Jak Jones tied at 4-4 in World Championship semi-final showdown

In a thrilling opening session at the World Championship semi-finals, Stuart Bingham and Jak Jones battled it out on the green baize, ending the session locked at 4-4. The 2015 champion, Bingham, started strong with breaks of 76 and 94 to take a commanding 3-0 lead. However, Jones fought back valiantly after a missed blue by Bingham, cupping his ear to the crowd as he cleared the table to make it 3-1.

The Welshman continued his momentum after the mid-session interval, stringing together a run of 66 to level the match at 3-3. Bingham responded with a break of 79, but a missed black allowed Jones to equalize once again with a break of 72. The intense battle between the two players will resume on Friday at 14:30 BST.

Meanwhile, in another semi-final clash, David Gilbert and Kyren Wilson could not be separated either, finishing all square at 4-4 after their opening session. The Crucible Theatre witnessed a display of attacking snooker from both players, with Wilson showcasing his skills with breaks of 73, 87, 67, and an 88 in the final frame.

Wilson’s attempt at a maximum 147 break was cut short, with his brother Taylor reminding him to focus on winning the frame instead. Gilbert, on the other hand, impressed with a superb break of 104, along with breaks of 91 and 74. The match between Gilbert and Wilson will resume on Friday at 10:00.
