Dartmouth Sports Weekend Preview: April 23-27

As we head into another exciting weekend of Dartmouth sports, there are plenty of matchups to keep an eye on. From baseball to sailing to rowing, the Big Green athletes are gearing up for some tough competition.

On Tuesday, April 23, Dartmouth baseball will have a chance at redemption as they host Holy Cross College at Red Rolfe Field. Last year, the Big Green fell to Holy Cross 5-7, but with a current record of 11-19, 6-9, they are looking to turn the tables this time around.

Sailing will also be in action this weekend, competing in the open team race at Nationals Spring Weekend in Cambridge. After a strong showing at the Central 4 Fleet Race on April 14, where they placed first and third out of 14 teams, the sailing team is ready to take on the competition.

Men’s and women’s track and field will be hitting the road to compete at the University of New Hampshire in Durham. With standout performances from athletes like Claire McDonald, who took first in the 3000 Steeplechase at the George Davis Invitational, the track teams are poised for success.

On Saturday, April 27, lightweight rowing will be looking to build on their recent victory at the Durand Cup as they compete in the Baggaley Bowl at home. Meanwhile, heavyweight rowing will host the Lake Morey Invite in Fairlee, Vt., facing off against tough competition from Boston University, Georgetown University, Syracuse University, and the University of Wisconsin.

With baseball, lacrosse, softball, tennis, and more on the schedule, it’s sure to be a jam-packed weekend of Dartmouth sports action. Be sure to come out and support your Big Green teams as they strive for victory.
