Sail Port Stephens Passage Series: Day Three Recap and Results
The Sail Port Stephens Passage Series continued to showcase some thrilling racing on day three, with crews hitting their stride and the competition heating up.
In division 1, Adrian Walters’ Little Nico and Virago dominated the course, taking advantage of the 10-knot breeze and showcasing their high-performance skills. Little Nico’s impressive speed and ability to maintain high averages secured them the division 1 handicap win, with Virago and Indi rounding out the podium.
Division 2 saw Peter Farrugia’s Bullwinkle make a strong comeback, overtaking some of the bigger boats and securing a well-deserved victory. Sea Hawk and Rant & Rave battled it out for second place, with Sea Hawk ultimately coming out on top.
Ralf Moller and his crew on Kookaburra sailed a flawless race in division 3, utilizing their boat’s setup to their advantage and claiming the top spot. Forever Young and Ataraxia II also had strong performances, finishing in second and third place respectively.
Antony Henderson and his team on Split continued their winning streak in division 4, while Allsail Leeward celebrated a victory in the Non-Spinnaker Division after consistent performances in the previous days.
With a lay day on Thursday, crews enjoyed a night of festivities at the Sail Port Stephens Street Party, gearing up for the final two days of racing. The forecast for Friday promises challenging conditions with a building southerly wind and predicted rain, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion to the regatta.
