Ponant Introduces New Small-Ship Sailing Catamaran, Spirit of Ponant
Ponant, the renowned French cruise line, is making a splash in the world of small-ship cruising with the addition of its newest vessel, the Spirit of Ponant. This sleek 79-foot sailing catamaran is set to embark on its maiden voyage in Corsica this July before heading to the stunning Seychelles for the winter season.
Founded by officers of the French Merchant Navy in 1988, Ponant has a long history of offering unique and immersive global itineraries. With a fleet that now includes 13 ships, ranging from the impressive 492-foot ice-class Le Commandant Charcot to the elegant 288-foot Le Ponant, the Spirit of Ponant will be the smallest and most intimate vessel in the lineup.
Built in Bordeaux, France, based on Lagoon’s Seventy 7 model, the Spirit of Ponant features six spacious staterooms for up to 12 guests, as well as cabins for four crew members. Guests can expect personalized service, including a private chef, tailored activities, and luxurious amenities.
What sets the Spirit of Ponant apart is its completely customizable itineraries. Travelers can work with the captain to tailor their seven-night voyages to their interests and preferences. After exploring the picturesque shores of Corsica, the catamaran will sail around Mahé, the largest island in the Seychelles archipelago, for the winter season.
Ponant CEO Hervé Gastinel describes the Spirit of Ponant as a new expression of the company’s pioneering spirit, offering guests a truly unique and personalized sailing experience. Rates for the Spirit of Ponant start at $8,250 per person based on double occupancy for a single cabin booking in Corsica.
For travelers looking to embark on a one-of-a-kind luxury cruise experience, the Spirit of Ponant promises to deliver an unforgettable journey on the high seas.
