Players on Track to Reach 300-Game Milestone in 2024
The 300-game milestone in rugby league is one of the most prestigious achievements a player can reach, with only 50 players in NRL history having accomplished this feat. As the 2024 NRL season progresses, there are several players who are on track to join this elite group.
Jared Waerea-Hargreaves of the Sydney Roosters recently reached the 300-game milestone in Round 3, solidifying his place as one of the game’s greats. However, he will be departing the NRL at the end of the season to join Super League club Hull KR in 2025.
Michael Jennings, currently playing for the Roosters, is set to play his 300th game in Round 6 against the Knights. Despite his impressive career, the NRL has decided not to officially celebrate this milestone due to Jennings’ past conduct, including a ban for performance-enhancing drugs and allegations of abuse.
Josh Papali’i of the Canberra Raiders is also nearing the 300-game mark, sitting at 287 games played. Meanwhile, Kieran Foran of the Gold Coast Titans needs to play 18 more games to reach the milestone.
In addition to these players, there are three current NRL stars who have already surpassed the 300-game mark. Jesse Bromwich of the Dolphins, Ben Hunt of the Dragons, and Daly Cherry-Evans of the Manly Sea Eagles have all achieved this impressive milestone.
However, the player with the most NRL games in history is Cameron Smith, who played 430 games with the Melbourne Storm before retiring in 2020. His former teammate, Cooper Cronk, is second on the all-time list with 372 games played.
As the 2024 NRL season unfolds, fans will be eagerly watching to see which players will reach the coveted 300-game milestone and etch their names into rugby league history.
