Future Broncos Star Leads Burleigh Bears to Record-Breaking Victory in Mal Meninga Cup

In a rugby league match that will go down in history, the Burleigh Bears have produced an absolutely bonkers scoreline, smashing all competition records with a jaw-dropping 130-0 victory over the Wide Bay Bulls. The star of the show was none other than teen sensation Coby Black, who piled on an incredible 46 points to lead his team to victory.

The game, which took place at UAA Park in the Queensland Rugby League’s Mal Meninga Cup competition, saw the Burleigh Bears dominate from start to finish. The team scored a whopping 70 unanswered points in the first half alone, with the massacre continuing in the second half as they scored a staggering 23 tries before the final siren sounded.

Black, who finished with two tries and 19 successful conversions, fell just short of an individual haul of 50 points. However, his performance was nothing short of spectacular, showcasing his immense talent and potential as a future star in the sport.

The Burleigh Bears’ victory has not only shattered all first-tier state league records but has also drawn comparisons to some of the most one-sided games in rugby league history. Despite this, Black’s personal tally has equalled that of Panthers legend Greg Alexander, further solidifying his status as a rising star in the game.

With his impressive performance catching the eye of scouts from both the Broncos and Titans, Black’s future in the sport looks incredibly bright. As the Bears CEO Damian Driscoll noted, Black’s talent has put the team in a strong position heading into the finals, where they will look to continue their winning streak and make a push for the championship title.
