George King set to join Huddersfield Giants in 2025: Latest updates and insights
Hull KR’s George King is edging closer to a potential move to Huddersfield Giants for the 2025 season, with the Giants emerging as the frontrunners to secure his services. The Ireland international has reportedly had discussions with his hometown club in the past 48 hours, indicating his preference to join the West Yorkshire club next year.
Despite being under contract until 2027, Rovers have allowed King’s management to explore other options, with Castleford Tigers also expressing interest in the 29-year-old. However, it seems that Huddersfield Giants are now leading the race to sign him, with interest from other clubs outside of West Yorkshire as well.
King, who is nearing 100 appearances for Hull KR, is expected to play a key role in the team’s push for silverware this season before any potential move. His agent, Craig Harrison, has assured that the situation is transparent and a decision will be made by the end of the week.
Having previously been on the books at Huddersfield as a youngster, King still resides in the area and could be set for a return over a decade later. His addition would provide more depth to the Giants’ pack, which will also see Tom Burgess join from South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2025.
Meanwhile, Hull KR have already secured the services of Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, one of the world’s best props, for the upcoming season. With both clubs making significant moves in the transfer market, the 2025 season is shaping up to be an exciting one for Rugby League fans.
