Star Performers Shine in Round Four of the NRRRL: A Weekend Wrap-Up

In a weekend filled with thrilling matchups and standout performances, round four of the NRRRL did not disappoint. From playmaking masterclasses to speedsters lighting up the field, fans were treated to some exciting rugby league action.

One of the most anticipated matches of the round was the grand final rematch between Cudgen and Ballina. Despite a very different set of players taking the field compared to last year’s decider, the game was filled with emotion and intensity. Ballina managed to secure a 28-14 victory over defending premiers Cudgen, with rookie winger Noah Waldock scoring a spectacular double to help his team to victory.

Byron Bay continued their impressive start to the season with a thrilling 27-22 win over Northern United. Five-eighth Jack Rogers was outstanding for the Red Devils, scoring two tries and a field goal to lead his team to their third straight win of the season.

Marist Brothers notched up their first win of the season with a 20-10 victory over Tweed Coast, thanks to a playmaking masterclass from halfback Shallin Fuller. Fuller set up four tries for the Rams, showcasing his skill and vision on the field.

Bilambil debutant Reiven Smallman stole the show in the Tweed derby against Murwillumbah, scoring a stunning hat-trick in his first-grade debut for the Jets. Smallman’s speed and agility were on full display as he helped his team to a convincing 34-6 win.

Mullumbimby maintained their unbeaten record with a hard-fought 24-14 victory over Kyogle. Hooker Cody Nelson put on a masterclass performance, scoring two tries and setting up two more to lead the Giants to their first win of the season.

Evans Head outgunned Lower Clarence with a second-half blitz, securing a 36-12 victory. Centre Torben Milton starred for the Bombers, scoring a double to help his team bounce back from a last-start loss.

Overall, round four of the NRRRL delivered some standout performances and thrilling matchups, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead. Fans can look forward to more action-packed games and star performers as the competition heats up.
