Debut Delight: Brothers Make First Grade History Together

Terrigal Sharks may have suffered a tough loss in round one, but for brothers Brooklyn and Caydn Rosemeyer, it was a day they will never forget. The 17-year-old Brooklyn made his first-grade debut for the Sharks at halfback, while his older brother Caydn played in the centres.

Having grown up playing backyard footy together and watching Caydn play for Terrigal, Brooklyn had always dreamed of playing first grade. The brothers finally got the chance to take the field together in a proper game, fulfilling a lifelong goal for both of them.

Despite the Sharks’ loss to Erina, the Rosemeyer brothers were proud of their performance on the field. Caydn, 22, praised his younger brother’s skills and physicality, jokingly taking credit for toughening him up during their backyard wrestling matches.

The dynamic between the brothers on the field was interesting, with Brooklyn taking charge and barking orders to his older sibling. Caydn embraced his role and had full faith in his brother’s abilities as an organizing half.
