England vs France Doubleheader in Toulouse to Celebrate 90 Years of Rugby League

In a celebration of 90 years of rugby league in France, England will face off against France in a doubleheader in Toulouse this June. The fixtures will see both the Men’s and Women’s teams in action on Saturday 29 June at the Stade Ernest-Wallon.

The Women’s team will kick things off at 3:30pm local time, followed by the Men’s team at 6pm. Both games will be streamed on Super League+, Rugby League’s direct-to-consumer streaming service.

Last year, both the Men’s and Women’s teams dominated France with a 64-0 victory in Warrington. However, the scorelines were closer when they last met on French soil in 2021, with the Men winning 30-10 and the Women 40-4.

England will be looking for a tougher challenge this time around as the hosts build towards the 2026 Rugby League World Cup. Both Shaun Wane and Stuart Barrow will announce their squads during the week of the games.

RFL Chair, Simon Johnson, expressed his excitement for the upcoming fixtures, stating, “Rugby League in France has a rich and proud history, and I am delighted that our England sides have been invited to be part of the 90th anniversary celebrations.”

The mid-season international weekend will see no Super League action, with all eyes on England and France. However, Championship action will still take place, with Toulouse Olympique facing off against Featherstone Rovers on the same day at 9pm.

In addition to the doubleheader, England Academy will host France in July at Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium. Last year, England emerged victorious with a 33-20 win over France.

Rugby league fans can expect an action-packed weekend as England and France go head-to-head in Toulouse, marking a significant milestone in the history of the sport in France.
