Navy Women’s Rowing Team to Compete in A-10 Invitational at Overpeck Park
The Navy women’s rowing team is gearing up for an action-packed weekend at the A-10 Invitational at Overpeck Park in Northern New Jersey. With two sessions of racing on Saturday, the Mids will be facing off against some tough competition from the northeast region.
The field for the invitational includes powerhouse teams like R/V Columbia, George Washington, and Rhode Island, as well as UConn, UMass, Marist, Saint Joseph’s, and Patriot League rival Bucknell. The Navy team will be competing in five different classifications, including first, second, and third varsity eight, and first and second varsity four events.
The Mids will have the opportunity to race a total of 10 times throughout the day, with the first varsity eight kicking things off at 10:30 a.m. in a heat against Columbia and Marist. The competition will be fierce, with quick turnarounds between races and matchups changing throughout the day.
Following the A-10 Invitational, Navy will have a three-week break before their next competitive collegiate racing event at the Lake Wheeler Invitational in Raleigh, N.C. on April 26-27.
