FederCanottaggio’s Social Commitment for 2024: Initiatives and Partnerships

The Italian Rowing Federation, Federcanotggio, is not only excelling in the world of rowing but also making a significant impact in the social sphere. In a recent press conference held in Rome, the federation announced its commitment to various social initiatives for the year 2024.

One of the key projects introduced is the “Integrated Sports Therapy” program, aimed at supporting individuals who have battled oncological breast diseases. This initiative will be implemented in designated Hubs across different regions, providing much-needed support and rehabilitation through sports.

Additionally, Federcanotggio will continue its successful projects, such as “#StudiEremoinFamiglia” and “Rowing in Freedom”, which have been supported by the Department of Sport of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and Sport and Health. These projects have not only promoted physical activity but also fostered a sense of community and well-being among participants.

Federal president Giuseppe Abbagnale emphasized the importance of the Social Rowing Area within the Federation, highlighting its dedication to social causes. He expressed pride in the federation’s involvement in these initiatives and acknowledged the support of partners like Sport and Health and Coop Italia.

The collaboration with Coop Italia, particularly in supporting the women’s team Olympic success, was also highlighted during the conference. The federation’s general secretary, Maurizio Leone, provided details on upcoming events, including the National Regatta “Remare in Libertà” in Varese and the National Student Day in Como.

One of the most notable events announced was the 2024 edition of “Via le Mani”, a regatta against gender violence scheduled to take place between Mantua and Rome on October 13. This initiative underscores Federcanotggio’s commitment to using sports as a platform to address important social issues.

Overall, Federcanotggio’s dedication to social causes alongside its sporting achievements showcases the federation’s holistic approach to making a positive impact in society.
