Fordham Rowing Team Shines at The Knecht Cup
The Fordham rowing team showcased their skills and determination on Sunday at The Knecht Cup after a windy start to the event on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, N.J.
Despite the challenging conditions, the team put together an impressive performance, starting with the Novice 4 boat capturing third place in its heat with a time of 8:58.23. The Second Varsity 4 followed suit, finishing second in its heat just three seconds behind first-place Delaware with a time of 8:14.78.
The Varsity 4 continued the streak of strong finishes, coming in second in its heat with a time of 8:23. The Second Varsity 8 then secured another second-place finish for the Rams with a time of 7:08.20.
The Varsity 8 clocked in at 6:54.58 to finish third in its heat, while the Third Varsity 8 closed out the day for the Rams in fourth place of its final with a time of 8:13.45.
The team’s lineup included standout rowers such as C. Alena Bujnowski, Annabelle Bunch, Maja Gunz, Bailey Scherdorf, Eliza Collins, Carley Walker, Brooke Gould, Elli Lewis, and Eleanor Rodde in the Varsity 8+.
With their strong showing at The Knecht Cup, the Fordham rowing team has proven their skill and determination, setting the stage for a successful season ahead.
