Texas Rowing Travels to Michigan to Face No. 9 Wolverines

The No. 2 Texas Rowing team is gearing up for a showdown against the ninth-ranked Michigan Wolverines in what promises to be an exciting head-to-head racing event. This will mark the fourth consecutive year that these two powerhouse teams will face off during the regular season, with the competition set to take place on Belleville Lake in Michigan.

Texas head coach Dave O’Neill is expecting a tough challenge from the Wolverines, emphasizing the importance of being prepared for a competitive race. The Longhorns are led by a group of exceptional senior athletes, including Carly Legenzowski, Etta Carpender, Lanie Nitsch, and Anna Jensen, who are determined to make the most of their final year with the team.

In their last meeting on Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas emerged victorious in three out of four races, showcasing their strength and skill on the water. This weekend’s race schedule includes events in the first and second eight boats, as well as the first and second four boats, over a 2,000-meter course.

The Longhorns are coming off a successful performance at the San Diego Crew Classic, where they secured three trophies and demonstrated their dominance in the sport. With a lineup of talented returnees and a strong track record of success, Texas is poised to continue their winning streak and make a statement against Michigan.
