Philip Doyle Determined to Avoid Tokyo Disappointment in Paris

Philip Doyle is on a mission to ensure his Tokyo Olympics disappointment is not repeated in Paris this summer. The Banbridge rower, who had high hopes for a medal in the men’s double sculls in Tokyo, faced setbacks during the pandemic-induced delay of the Games. However, Doyle is determined to learn from his past experiences and come back stronger this time around.

Teaming up with partner Daire Lynch, Doyle has been putting in the work during a consistent winter of training. The duo will kick off their season at the first World Cup in Varese, Italy, this weekend, with their sights set on the ultimate goal of success in Paris.

With the Sinkovic brothers from Croatia opting to race in the men’s pair, the field is open for Doyle and Lynch to make their mark in the double sculls event. The pair is eager to test themselves against top competition and showcase their progress on the racetrack.

Reflecting on his past challenges, Doyle emphasized the importance of finding the right balance in training and avoiding overdoing it. With a focus on managing illness and injury, Doyle is confident in his preparation and is ready to unleash his full potential on the course.

As Doyle and Lynch gear up for the upcoming season, they are determined to prove themselves as top contenders in the sport. With a strong partnership and a renewed sense of determination, the duo is ready to make their mark and aim for a spot on the podium in Paris.
