Exciting Debut of National Women’s Hockey League 2024 – 2025 in Ranchi, Jharkhand
The National Women’s Hockey League 2024 – 2025 is all set to kick off in Ranchi, Jharkhand on 30th April 2024, showcasing the best talent from India’s top state teams. With the aim of providing a platform for emerging athletes and raising the profile of women’s hockey in the country, the league will feature eight teams from the 14th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship 2024.
The tournament will be divided into two phases, with the first leg taking place from 30th April to 9th May 2024 at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium. The competition will see all eight teams competing in a single pool in a round-robin format, with each team facing off against the others to secure victories and valuable points.
Hockey enthusiasts can look forward to a total of 28 league matches in the first phase of the tournament, promising an action-packed spectacle for fans across the country. The league aims to not only showcase the skills and dedication of women athletes but also inspire young girls to pursue their passion for hockey.
Hockey India President Dr. Dilip Tirkey expressed his excitement for the inaugural edition of the National Women’s Hockey League, highlighting the significance of the league in promoting inclusivity and empowerment in Indian sports. Secretary General Shri Bhola Nath Singh echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the potential and prowess of women athletes in the country.
The opening day of the tournament will feature four thrilling matchups, with Hockey Haryana taking on Hockey Association of Odisha, Hockey Maharashtra facing Manipur Hockey, Hockey Madhya Pradesh squaring off against Hockey Bengal, and Hockey Jharkhand clashing with Hockey Mizoram. Fans can expect a display of skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship as the teams compete for glory in the National Women’s Hockey League 2024 – 2025.
