Ranchi, 1st May 2024: The National Women’s Hockey League 2024-2025 (Phase 1) continued with exciting matches on Day 2 at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Hockey Haryana and Hockey Maharashtra emerged victorious in their respective matches, showcasing their dominance on the field.
In the first match of the day, Hockey Haryana put on a stellar performance as they outplayed Manipur Hockey with a resounding 8-0 win. Pooja, Ritika, Manju Chorsiya, Bhteri, and Shashi Khasa were the standout performers for Haryana, with Shashi Khasa scoring a remarkable hat-trick in the final quarter. Every goal scored by Haryana was a field goal, highlighting their proficiency in open play.
In the second match, Hockey Maharashtra cruised to a 3-0 victory over Hockey Mizoram. Tanushree Dinesh Kadu, Monika Tirkey, and Captain Ashwini Kolekar were the goal scorers for Maharashtra, who controlled the game from start to finish. Mizoram struggled to make an impact, failing to convert on their chances and break through Maharashtra’s defense.
Later in the day, Hockey Madhya Pradesh secured a 1-0 win over Hockey Bengal, while Hockey Jharkhand defeated Hockey Mizoram 3-0 in their respective matches. The competition is heating up in the National Women’s Hockey League, with teams giving their all to secure crucial victories.
