Heading: Pakistan Hockey Team Ready to Compete in Azlan Shah Tournament in Malaysia
The Pakistan national hockey team has arrived in Malaysia to participate in the prestigious Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament, set to kick off on May 4. Led by captain Ammad Shakeel Butt and vice-captain Abu Bakar, the team underwent intensive training to prepare for the competition.
Their first match will be against the hosts, Malaysia, on May 4, followed by games against South Korea, Japan, Canada, and New Zealand. The final of the tournament is scheduled for May 11.
The squad is packed with experienced players, including goalkeepers Abdullah and Muneeb-ur-Rehman, defenders Usama Bashir, Athisham, Mohammad Abdullah, Sufiyan, Abu Bakar, and captain Shakeel Butt. The midfield is bolstered by Salman Razzaq, Arshad Liaqat, Moin Shakeel, Zakriya Hayat, Murtaza Yaqoob, and Ghazanfar Ali, while forwards Abdul Rehman, Hanan, Rana Waheed, and Ejaz Ahmed complete the lineup.
Additionally, seven players have been selected as standbys to provide depth and cover for any unforeseen circumstances during the tournament.
