OTTAWA SPORT HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY 2024: MIKE BULLARD AMONG FIVE NEW INDUCTEES
The Ottawa Sport Hall of Fame is gearing up for an exciting evening on Tuesday, May 28th as they induct five new members and honor two championship teams. Among the inductees is former NHL player Mike Bullard, a talented scorer who left his mark on the ice.
Bullard’s hockey journey began in Ottawa as a member of the East Ottawa Vanier Voyageurs minor hockey team, showcasing his skills at a young age. He continued to impress in junior hockey, scoring 150 points with the Brantford Alexanders before being drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1980.
Throughout his 11-season NHL career, Bullard was known for his scoring prowess, reaching the impressive milestones of 50 goals and 100 points. He even achieved the feat of scoring 50 goals with a last-place team, showcasing his talent and determination on the ice.
After his NHL career, Bullard spent another decade playing in Europe before transitioning into coaching. He now serves as the Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations for the Caledonia Corvairs in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League, passing on his knowledge and passion for the game to the next generation of players.
With 336 goals and 694 points in 727 NHL games, Bullard’s induction into the Ottawa Sport Hall of Fame is a well-deserved honor for his contributions to the sport.
