Young Indian Midfielder Marina Lalramnghaki Aims for Success in 2026 Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup and 2028 Los Angeles Olympics

India women’s hockey team midfielder Marina Lalramnghaki is setting her sights on the 2026 Women’s FIH Hockey World Cup and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics as she aims to contribute to the team’s success on the international stage. The talented 22-year-old from Mizoram recently earned a spot in the 33-member Indian Women’s Hockey Team core group, currently training at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Bengaluru.

Marina’s selection came after impressing selectors during intense trials held on April 6 and 7, where her exceptional skills and unwavering determination caught the eye of the coaching staff. Her standout performance at the 14th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship in Pune, where she scored three goals, further solidified her position among the nation’s top hockey players.

Reflecting on her selection, Marina expressed her joy and gratitude, stating, “It was a dream come true moment for me, and tears of joy filled my eyes. I always had confidence in my abilities, and the successful trials reaffirmed my belief.” With her focus now on earning a spot in the 18-member Indian squad for upcoming tournaments, Marina is determined to make her country proud on the international stage.

Marina’s journey in hockey began at the age of 10, and she credits her inspiration to Lalremsiami and Indian team midfielder Sushila Chanu. Drawing motivation from Lalremsiami’s success story and idolizing Sushila Chanu for her exceptional skills and commitment to the sport, Marina is determined to follow in their footsteps and contribute to the legacy of Indian hockey.

As Marina continues her training and prepares for future challenges, her dedication and passion for the sport shine through, making her a promising talent to watch out for in the upcoming years. With her eyes set on the ultimate goal of success at the World Cup and Olympics, Marina Lalramnghaki is a rising star in Indian women’s hockey.
