Hockey India Announces 33-Member Women’s Core Probables for FIH Pro League Training Squad

Hockey India has set the stage for an exciting new chapter in women’s hockey with the announcement of its 33-member list of core probables for the upcoming FIH Pro League fixtures. The squad, featuring a mix of experienced players and fresh faces, will undergo rigorous training in Bengaluru until May 16 in preparation for matches against top teams like Argentina, Belgium, Germany, and Great Britain.

Among the familiar faces in the roster are goalkeeper Savita Punia, forward Vandana Katariya, current captain Nikki Pradhan, and midfielders Salima Tete and Ajmina Kujur. These seasoned players will provide leadership and experience to the team as they gear up for the challenging Pro League fixtures.

However, it’s the inclusion of new talents like Marina Lalramnghaki and Manisha Chauhan that has generated excitement among fans and experts alike. These young players have impressed selectors with their performances in the recent National Championship and are poised to make a significant impact on the team’s future.

Hockey India High Performance Director Herman Kruis expressed confidence in the potential of the new core group, stating that they have the ability to achieve great results in the upcoming matches. With a renewed focus on talent development and performance, the national camp has been revamped to ensure that the best players represent India on the international stage.

As the team looks to bounce back from their disappointment of missing out on the Paris Olympics, the core probables will be aiming to make a strong statement in the FIH Pro League. With a perfect blend of experience and youth, the Indian women’s hockey team is poised for success in the upcoming fixtures.
