Haryana and Maharashtra Shine in National Women’s Hockey League
In an action-packed day at the National Women’s Hockey League, Haryana and Maharashtra emerged victorious in their respective matches. Haryana put up a dominant performance as they blanked Manipur 8-0, while Maharashtra defeated Mizoram 3-0.
Haryana’s Pooja set the tone early in the match with two goals, followed by goals from Ritika, Manju Chorsiya, and Bhteri. Shashi Khasa then stole the show in the final quarter with a quick hat-trick, showcasing her exceptional skills. Every goal scored in the match was a field goal, highlighting Haryana’s attacking prowess.
On the other hand, Maharashtra had a comfortable outing against Mizoram. Tanushree Dinesh Kadu opened the scoring for Maharashtra with a successful penalty corner conversion, followed by goals from Monika Tirkey and skipper Ashwini Kolekar. Despite creating a few chances, Mizoram failed to capitalize on them and struggled to maintain possession against a strong Maharashtra defense.
