AMHA and Global Sport Academy Announce Partnership to Revolutionize Hockey Player Development in Airdrie

The Airdrie Minor Hockey Association (AMHA) and Global Sport Academy have joined forces in a groundbreaking partnership that is set to revolutionize hockey player development in Airdrie. The collaboration, announced last week, will see Global Sport Academy, a subsidiary of Village Sports, work closely with AMHA to enhance the high-performance and elite streams within the association.

The partnership will directly benefit the eight AA teams within AMHA, spanning from U11 to U18 for both male and female teams. By providing a unified and structured approach to player development, the collaboration aims to elevate the level of hockey in Airdrie and create a pathway for aspiring young athletes to reach their full potential.

Village Sports COO and CFO, Dustin Taylor, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating that the focus will be on the holistic development of players, both on and off the ice. With a proven track record of success in developing elite hockey players, Global Sport Academy’s training methods are expected to bring a new level of excellence to Airdrie’s hockey community.

The partnership will see Global Sport Academy take over hockey operations for the U18 AAA CFR Bisons, U17 AAA Cannex Avalanche, and U15 AAA Airdrie Xtreme teams. This move is expected to provide tailored support and development opportunities for players, ultimately solidifying Airdrie’s reputation as a premier destination for aspiring hockey talents.

With a visionary approach that aims to set the gold standard for elite streams, the partnership between AMHA and Global Sport Academy is poised to attract top-tier athletes and establish Airdrie as a trailblazer in the realm of minor hockey. The ultimate goal is to create a program that is player-focused and player-centric, ensuring that all decisions are made with the best interests of the athletes in mind.

As the 2024-2025 season approaches, the hockey community in Airdrie is buzzing with excitement over the potential impact of this groundbreaking partnership. With a shared commitment to excellence and player development, AMHA and Global Sport Academy are set to take Airdrie’s hockey scene to new heights.
