Stanford Dominates to Win Fifth Consecutive NCAA Men’s Gymnastics National Championship
Stanford’s dominance in men’s gymnastics was on full display as they secured their fifth consecutive NCAA national championship title on Saturday. Led by Asher Hong’s stellar performances on the vault, parallel bars, and rings, and Khoi Young’s all-around title win, the Cardinal claimed their 10th championship in program history.
With a total score of 425.324 points, Stanford comfortably took first place, finishing 5.635 points ahead of second-place Michigan. Oklahoma, the former four-time champions, secured third place with 412.956 points. The victory solidified Stanford’s place alongside Nebraska as the only schools to clinch five consecutive championships.
Sophomore standout Asher Hong continued to impress, winning the vault for the second year in a row with a score of 15.266. Khoi Young further showcased Stanford’s dominance by clinching the all-around title with a score of 86.098, outpacing his closest competitor by over 2 points.
In other events, Michigan’s Paul Juda claimed victory in the floor exercise, while Air Force’s Patrick Hoopes made history by securing the first-ever men’s gymnastics title for the program in the horse event. Asher Hong also continued his winning streak by taking first place in the rings event.
