University of Arkansas Gymnasts Earn All-SEC Recognition at SEC Championships

The University of Arkansas gymnastics team is on fire, with six of its athletes earning All-SEC recognition after an impressive showing at the SEC Championships in New Orleans. Juniors Maddie Jones and Leah Smith, sophomores Frankie Price, Cami Weaver, and Lauren Williams, along with freshman Hailey Klein, all delivered standout performances to secure their spots on the All-SEC team.

The Razorbacks posted a program-best score of 197.05 at the championships, finishing in sixth place overall. This achievement tied the program record for the highest number of gymnasts earning All-SEC honors, a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication under Coach Jordyn Wieber.

Williams, who earned a 9.85 score on the vault, now has three All-SEC awards to her name. Jones, a first-time All-SEC performer, impressed with a 9.9 score on the floor exercise. Price and Smith both scored 9.875 on the floor exercise, with Price earning her second All-SEC honor and Smith making her mark as a first-time All-SEC gymnast.

Weaver and Klein shone on the balance beam, each earning a score of 9.925 and tying for eighth place. Arkansas also achieved program highs in team score, on the balance beam, and the uneven bars at the SEC Championships, showcasing their strength and skill on all apparatus.

The Razorbacks are now gearing up to host the NCAA Fayetteville Regional at Walton Arena, where they will face off against top teams like Kentucky, Arizona, and Nebraska. With their recent success at the SEC Championships, the Razorbacks are poised to make a strong showing at the regional competition and continue their impressive season.
