Mitchell’s Bentley Bates Wins Uneven Bars Title at Region 4 Developmental Championships

Mitchell’s Bentley Bates, a talented gymnast from the MEGA Gymnastics club, showcased her skills at the Region 4 Developmental Championships in Bettendorf, Iowa. Bates emerged victorious in the uneven bars event, clinching the title with an impressive score of 9.575. Her stellar performance secured her a narrow victory over the second-place finisher, highlighting her precision and grace on the apparatus.

Competing in the Level 9 competition, Bates stood out among 14 competitors in the bars event and 25 overall gymnasts in her age group, representing Mitchell High School with pride. Not only did she excel on the uneven bars, but Bates also displayed her all-around abilities by securing an eighth-place finish with a total score of 35.000.

Bates’ success at the Region 4 Championships has earned her a spot as an alternate at the upcoming USA Gymnastics Women’s Development Program Western Championships in Coralville, Iowa. This prestigious event will feature top gymnasts from across the country, providing Bates with an opportunity to further showcase her talent on a national stage.

In addition to Bates’ outstanding performance, other gymnasts with local connections also made their mark at the region meet. Addison Duba, representing Core Athletics, impressed with a third-place tie on the uneven bars and a fourth-place finish on the floor in her Level 6 division. Sury Bechen showcased her skills in the vault event, securing a commendable 14th place finish in her Level 6 division.

As Bates and her fellow gymnasts continue to shine in their respective competitions, they exemplify the dedication and talent present in the gymnastics community.
