Suni Lee’s Withdrawal from USA Training Camp: Focus on Olympic Season Ahead
Suni Lee, the Olympic all-around champion, has made headlines once again with her recent decision to withdraw from the USA Training Camp scheduled for early April 2024. The talented gymnast, known for her exceptional floor and uneven bar routines, will instead kick off her Olympic season at the American Classic in Katy, Texas, followed by the US Classic in May.
According to her coach, Jess Graba, Lee’s absence from the training camp is due to her focus on training and upgrading her routines for the upcoming competitions. Graba stated, “Suni is focusing on training right now, and trying to put some upgraded routines together for the next couple meets.”
Despite not being part of the USA Gymnastics’ roster for the training camp, Lee has been making significant strides in her preparation for the 2024 Olympics. In February 2024, she showcased a new element, the full twisting layout Jaeger, at the Winter Cup. While her primary goal was to excel at the Winter Cup, Lee also had her sights set on the Baku World Competition, where she aimed to secure a skill named after her.
Although Lee did not achieve the desired result at the Baku World Competition, she remains determined to shine at the 2024 Paris Olympics after competing in the American and US Classics. With her signature elegant style and attention to detail, Lee continues to impress with her dedication to perfecting her craft.
As fans eagerly await Lee’s return to the competition floor, the gymnast’s progressive planning and unwavering commitment to excellence set the stage for an exciting Olympic season ahead.
