Georgia Gymnastics Announces New Co-Head Coaches
In a surprising turn of events, Georgia gymnastics has announced its new co-head coaches just days after parting ways with former head coach Courtney Kupets-Carter. The Bulldogs have appointed Hall of Fame USA gymnastics coach Cecile Canqueteau-Landi and former Georgia assistant Ryan Roberts to lead the team into the upcoming season.
Athletic director Josh Brooks expressed his excitement over the new coaching duo, stating, “Cecile and Ryan are two of the most accomplished gymnastics coaches in the sport. The combination of their leadership and experiences will give us one of the most dynamic coaching staffs in the country.”
Canqueteau-Landi brings a wealth of experience to the program, having coached numerous USA women’s senior national team members, including Olympic champions Simone Biles and Madison Kocian. Her impressive coaching career spans over a decade, with stints at top gymnastics academies and a successful tenure as a personal coach to Biles.
On the other hand, Roberts, who has been an assistant coach with the Bulldogs and Alabama, is eager to take on his first head coaching role. With a track record of success in recruiting and coaching top gymnasts, Roberts is poised to make a significant impact on the program.
The Bulldogs have been striving for success in recent years, and with the appointment of Canqueteau-Landi and Roberts, the team is hopeful for a fresh start. Both coaches have expressed their enthusiasm for the opportunity to lead the GymDogs and are committed to helping the team reach its full potential.
As the gymnastics season approaches, all eyes will be on Georgia to see how the new coaching staff will guide the team to success. With a blend of experience and passion, Canqueteau-Landi and Roberts are ready to lead the Bulldogs to new heights in the upcoming season.
