Georgia gymnastics showcased their talent and dominance at the Kidney Care Women’s Gymnastics Championships in Nashville, Tennessee, where they achieved their second-best score of the season with a 197.450. The Bulldogs left their competition in the dust, outscoring Maryland, Iowa, Pittsburgh, and Talladega.
Led by standout freshman Lily Smith, Georgia claimed the top spot in every event except vault. Smith was a force to be reckoned with, finishing first in bars, beam, floor, and all-around, but placing 16th on vault. Her teammate, Ady Wahl, also had a strong showing, tying for first in vault and placing third in all-around.
The Bulldogs’ performance on floor was particularly impressive, with each gymnast scoring above 9.800. Smith led the pack with a 9.950, followed closely by Wahl with a 9.925. Holly Snyder also delivered a solid performance, earning the fourth-best score of the competition.
On beam, Georgia continued to shine with Smith leading the way once again with a 9.950. Anya Turner and JaFree Scott also delivered strong performances, tying for second and sixth place, respectively.
Despite a rough start on bars, where Scott placed second-to-last, the Bulldogs rallied to finish strong. Smith’s impressive 9.950 streak on bars, beam, and floor helped secure Georgia’s victory.
Head coach Courtney Kupets Carter praised her team’s performance, noting their potential for success in the upcoming SEC championships. With their momentum building, the Bulldogs are poised to make a strong postseason run and peak at the right time. Georgia fans can look forward to more thrilling performances from this talented gymnastics team.
