Cecile Landi, renowned coach of gymnastics superstar Simone Biles, has added another feather to her cap by being named co-head coach for the University of Georgia gymnastics program. Despite this new role, Landi remains committed to coaching at the Paris Olympics, showcasing her dedication to both collegiate and elite level gymnastics.
Having represented her native France as an Olympian in 1996, Landi brings a wealth of experience to her coaching career. Alongside her husband Laurent, the duo has been instrumental in guiding Biles to success at the World Champions Centre in Texas since 2017. As the gymnastics world eagerly anticipates Biles’ return to competition, with upcoming events such as the Core Hydration Classic and the Olympic Trials on the horizon, all eyes will be on the superstar athlete and her coaching team. With Landi at the helm of both UGA Gymnastics and Biles’ Olympic journey, fans can expect nothing short of excellence in the sport.
The legacy that Cecile Landi leaves at WCC is undeniable, with Nellie Biles acknowledging her impact on the training center. As Landi prepares to transition to her new role at Georgia in August 2024, her influence will continue to shape the future of gymnastics for years to come.
