Marywood Athletics Recap: Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Lacrosse, and Golf Results
The Marywood Pacers had a busy weekend with multiple sports teams in action. Let’s take a look at how each team fared in their respective matchups.
In baseball, the Pacers faced off against the Cabrini University Cavaliers in a high-scoring affair. Despite a valiant effort, Marywood fell short in a 16-13 loss. The next day, the Pacers bounced back with a 12-5 victory in the first game of a doubleheader, but couldn’t secure the sweep as they fell 12-4 in the second game. However, they redeemed themselves in a dominant 23-5 win against Mount St. Mary on Tuesday.
The softball team also had a successful weekend, defeating Cabrini University in both games of a doubleheader with scores of 2-0 and 8-1. They continued their winning streak with a 12-0 victory over Misericordia in the first game of another doubleheader, but fell short in the second game, losing 9-2.
In men’s tennis, the Pacers suffered a tough 0-9 loss to Immaculata University, bringing their season record to 1-8. On the other hand, the women’s tennis team emerged victorious with a 6-3 win over Immaculata, with Kylie Kilgore earning AEC Athlete of the Week honors.
The men’s lacrosse team faced tough competition against Marymount University and Immaculata University, falling 17-6 and 9-2, respectively. The women’s lacrosse team also had a challenging weekend, losing 19-7 to Marymount University.
In men’s golf, the Pacers placed second in a Quad-Match and finished third in the Atlantic East Conference Championship.
