LIV Golf to Host 2024 Individual Championship in Chicago on September 13-15
LIV Golf has announced that the 2024 Individual Championship event will take place in Chicago on September 13-15 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club. This 54-hole tournament will not only determine the individual champion but also set the seedings for the LIV Team Championship.
Commissioner Greg Norman expressed excitement about the event, stating, “It will be an incredible setting for a high-stakes event as players battle it out for the individual title and a roster spot for 2025.” Players finishing in the top 24 of the season standings will secure spots for the following season, while those in positions 25-48 will become free agents. Those below will have to compete in a promotion tournament to regain a spot in the LIV Golf circuit.
The future of LIV Golf’s 2025 campaign remains uncertain as negotiations between the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the PGA Tour continue. Despite the ongoing talks, the current season is in full swing with Chile’s Joaquin Niemann leading the points race, followed by Jon Rahm and Dean Burmester.
The upcoming event in Singapore will serve as a final tune-up before LIV’s Brooks Koepka defends his title at the PGA Championship in May. With top players from around the world competing, the 2024 Individual Championship promises to be a thrilling and competitive event for golf fans in Chicago. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting tournament.
