Inside Michael Jordan’s Exclusive Golf Course: The One Rule Every Visitor Must Follow
Iona Stephen, a Sky Sports golf presenter, recently had the opportunity to play at Michael Jordan’s exclusive golf course, Grove XXIII. However, she made a major faux pas by breaking the one rule every visitor must adhere to – don’t wear Adidas.
Michael Jordan, known for his basketball career and iconic Air Jordan brand, has a long history with Nike after signing a sponsorship deal with them in 1985. The rule at his private golf course is a nod to his history with the sportswear giant and his rivalry with Adidas.
Unfortunately for Stephen, her golf bag got lost on the way to Florida, where the course is located, and she arrived with only the clothes on her back and a pair of Adidas trainers. Upon arriving at the course, she was immediately asked to change her shoes due to the Adidas branding.
Thankfully, the staff at Grove XXIII were understanding and provided her with a pair of Nike hi-top golf shoes to wear for her round. Despite trying to pay for them, they insisted she keep the shoes as a souvenir of her unique experience at the exclusive course.
Stephen shared her experience on the Golf Life YouTube channel, highlighting the strict adherence to the no-Adidas rule at Jordan’s place. Despite the mishap, she was able to enjoy a round of golf in the iconic Air Jordan shoes provided to her.
Overall, it was a memorable experience for Stephen, who now has a unique story to tell about her visit to Michael Jordan’s exclusive golf course and the importance of following the one rule set in place.
