Adam Scott Adjusts Pre-Masters Routine for Houston Tournament
Adam Scott is confident that his practice rounds at Augusta next week will provide ample preparation for the Masters after revealing that he skipped his regular pre-tournament visit as part of a rejigged schedule. The 2013 Masters champion is currently teeing up in Houston before heading to Georgia, where he normally makes a trip as part of an annual reconnaissance mission that includes rounds with his father.
Changes to Scott’s pre-tournament routine have been partly forced by changes to the PGA Tour schedule, but also to help him find the competitive form he wants to take to Augusta, where he has played every Masters since 2002. As a Masters winner, Scott has access to the course outside of the tournament and has made multiple visits over the years as the course has evolved.
Despite not winning since 2020, Scott has two top-10 finishes from five events so far in 2024 and is more willing to make adjustments to get the best out of his game. He played a practice round with fellow Australian Cameron Smith at Augusta in 2023 and is confident that his knowledge of the course will kick in when he arrives next week.
Scott, who has also won twice in Houston, is eager to get back into the winning vibe before taking on the world’s best players at the Masters. He believes that picking the right moments to play is crucial and is happy that his decision to play in Houston this week has worked out well.
With the Masters just around the corner, Scott’s focus is on fine-tuning his game and being in the best possible shape to compete for another green jacket. His confidence and experience at Augusta will undoubtedly serve him well as he looks to add to his major championship tally.
