The NCAA Division I women’s golf conference championship season is in full swing, with 27 conferences offering up automatic bids to their champions. The Coastal Athletic Association kicked off the action on April 14, with the MAC, Summit League, and Pac-12 wrapping up the championship season on April 23.
In the Coastal Athletic Association, Delaware emerged as the team champion, with Lilia Henkel claiming the individual title in a playoff. This victory marked Delaware’s third CAA title and first since 2017, breaking a streak of four runner-up finishes.
Over in the SEC, Mississippi State secured their first-ever conference title by defeating the reigning champions, Texas A&M. Mississippi State’s win was a sweet revenge after last year’s loss to Texas A&M in the final match.
In the ASUN conference, Kennesaw State overcame a five-shot deficit to edge out defending champions Lipscomb for the team title. Lauren Thompson of Lipscomb claimed the individual championship, making her the first back-to-back medalist in the conference since 2007.
The excitement continues with upcoming championships in various conferences, including the Big South, American, Big Sky, C-USA, Southland, Sun Belt, Mountain West, ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, Ivy League, MAAC, Northeast, Patriot League, WAC, Big East, Horizon League, MAC, Pac-12, and Summit League.
Stay tuned as the top teams and individual players battle it out for conference supremacy and a chance to compete in the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships.
