Samsung TV Plus Expands Sports Offerings and Programming Push
Samsung TV Plus is making waves in the sports world with its new offerings, as the free FAST platform operated by the leading smart-TV maker expands its programming lineup.
During a recent presentation at NewFronts in New York, Samsung announced that it would be live streaming games of the Ontario Reign, an American Hockey League team affiliated with the NHL’s LA Kings. This addition to their sports lineup joins other new channels dedicated to Major League Baseball, the PGA Tour, MMA’s ONE Championship, and Formula 1.
Michael Scott, VP, Head of Ad Sales and Operations at Samsung Ads, touted Samsung TV Plus as “America’s first choice for television,” highlighting the platform’s accessibility and wide range of content. The addition of sports channels is part of Samsung’s broader push to provide a diverse array of programming options for viewers.
In addition to sports, Samsung also announced new channels for news, family, and music programming. A partnership with Warner Music will bring exclusive content to the platform, enhancing the already extensive selection of national and local channels available on Samsung TV Plus.
Beyond television, Samsung is also expanding its reach into mobile with the integration of ads onto Samsung News, a pre-loaded app on Galaxy devices. The company is also venturing into gaming, with plans to release two games later this year that do not require a controller.
With its innovative approach to content delivery and a focus on engaging consumers across multiple platforms, Samsung TV Plus is solidifying its position as a leader in the streaming space. Fans of sports and entertainment alike can look forward to a wealth of new options on the platform in the coming months.
