Rare Watches from Michael Schumacher’s Private Collection to be Auctioned in Geneva

New Delhi – Fans of Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher will have a unique opportunity to own a piece of his legacy as selected watches from his private collection are set to be auctioned off in Geneva on May 13. The announcement was made by auction house Christie’s, who will be hosting the ‘Rare Watches’ auction at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues.

The highlight of the auction will be a section dedicated to watches that showcase key moments in Schumacher’s illustrious career. One of the most sought-after pieces is the unique Audemars Piguet Royal Oak chronograph, which was commissioned for Schumacher as a personal gift from his former Ferrari boss Jean Todt. The watch features Ferrari’s iconic prancing horse emblem on the dial and bears an engraved dedication commemorating Schumacher’s six F1 World Championship wins.

“We are proud to present these iconic and unique timepieces belonging to one of the most celebrated Formula One legends,” said Rémi Guillemin, Christie’s head of watches (Europe and US). “An exceptional moment for watch and F1 enthusiasts alike.”

Another standout piece in the collection is a FP Journe Vagabondage 1 Model timepiece dating back to circa 2004. The watch features a bespoke dial with symbols representing Schumacher’s seven F1 World Championship victories achieved by 2004, along with his racing helmet and the Ferrari emblem.

Schumacher, who made his F1 debut in 1991 and went on to win seven world titles, remains one of the most successful drivers in the sport’s history. However, the 55-year-old has not been seen in public since a skiing accident in 2013 left him with severe head injuries.

The auction is sure to attract collectors and fans alike, offering a rare opportunity to own a piece of Formula 1 history.
