Mercedes to Bring Upgrades for Miami Race After Disappointing Chinese Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton’s struggles continued at the Chinese Grand Prix as he could only manage a ninth-place finish, marking his worst start to an F1 season. The Mercedes team, who have not won a race in over 18 months, are facing a challenging 2024 season ahead.

Hamilton’s woes began in Qualifying when he was knocked out in Q1 and had to start the race in 18th place. Despite battling through the field, the seven-time world champion expressed frustration over the pace of his car, claiming it was too slow to catch his competitors.

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff acknowledged the team’s shortcomings, stating that they lacked pace and needed to dig deep to improve. He revealed that upgrades would be brought to the next race in Miami in an effort to turn their season around.

Hamilton, who is experiencing his worst start to a season since his debut in 2007, expressed gratitude for scoring points in a challenging weekend. He highlighted the need for a step forward in performance at the upcoming races.

Meanwhile, Hamilton’s teammate George Russell had a more positive weekend, finishing in sixth place. Russell emphasized the importance of continuously adding performance to the car to close the gap to their competitors.

With the Miami Grand Prix up next, Mercedes will be looking to bounce back and put up a stronger performance. As the team works to address their issues and improve their pace, all eyes will be on Hamilton and Russell as they aim to turn their season around.
