Lewis Hamilton Gives Blessing for Sebastian Vettel to Return to F1, Offers Mercedes Seat

Lewis Hamilton has set the Formula 1 world abuzz with his recent announcement that he will be leaving Mercedes to join Ferrari at the end of the season. However, the seven-time World Champion has made it clear that he is not concerned with Mercedes’ recruitment process, instead focusing on the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix and giving his blessing for Sebastian Vettel to make a sensational return to the sport.

With the Japanese Grand Prix just around the corner, the talk in the paddock is all about the contrasting fortunes of the rival teams. Max Verstappen will be looking to bounce back after a rare blunder forced him to retire early, Ferrari will be aiming to build on their recent success and potentially leapfrog Red Bull in the standings, and Mercedes will be desperate to find a solution to their faltering race day performance.

Hamilton’s announcement has left a vacant seat at Mercedes, and he has offered his old seat to former rival Sebastian Vettel. The two drivers were fierce competitors on the grid, but Hamilton has nothing but admiration for the four-time champion.

“I would love for Seb to come back. I think he would be an amazing option for the team, to have a multi-world championship-winning driver, someone who’s got amazing values to continue to take this team forwards – I would love it if he came back,” Hamilton said.

As the Japanese Grand Prix approaches, Hamilton has made it clear that he wants his successor at Mercedes to share the same values that he has championed throughout his dominant run with the team.

“The only thing I really care about is that the team takes on someone with integrity and that are aligned with the team and where the team’s going,” Hamilton stated. “Someone compassionate that’s able to work with great people and continues to lift them up. There’s so many great people in this team.”

The Japanese Grand Prix is set to kick off on Sunday, April 7 at 3:00PM AEST, and all eyes will be on the track to see how the drama unfolds.
