Formula 1 2024 Season Update: Verstappen Continues Dominance with Victory in Bahrain
Max Verstappen continued his dominant form in the 2024 Formula 1 season with another impressive victory in Bahrain, kicking off the season in style. The Red Bull driver’s stellar performance was further highlighted by teammate Sergio Perez’s excellent drive, securing Red Bull’s first one-two finish of the season.
Verstappen’s success carried over to the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah, where he once again qualified on pole and controlled the race from start to finish. Despite a brief challenge from Lando Norris behind a safety car, Verstappen maintained his lead to claim victory, with Perez securing second place after a battle with Charles Leclerc of Ferrari.
However, the season took an unexpected turn in Melbourne, with both Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton retiring early. Carlos Sainz capitalized on the opportunity to win, leading a Ferrari one-two finish alongside Leclerc, while Norris secured third place on the podium.
Verstappen quickly bounced back in Japan, winning from pole position for the 30th time in his career. He continued his winning streak by triumphing in the sprint race in China and setting his sights on another victory in the main event.
With Verstappen leading the Drivers’ World Championship standings with 84 points, followed by Perez and Leclerc, the competition is heating up as the season progresses. In the Constructors’ Championship, Red Bull holds a commanding lead with 154 points, ahead of Ferrari and McLaren.
