Ed Sheeran in Miami for Formula 1 Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton aims for podium

Musician and Formula 1 fan Ed Sheeran has been making waves in Miami ahead of Sunday’s grand prix in the United States, where all eyes will be on Ferrari-bound Lewis Hamilton as he looks to secure his first podium finish of the season.

Sheeran, 33, has been soaking up the atmosphere in Miami, taking in the excitement of the sixth grand prix of the 2024 season. Despite overlooking Hamilton when asked about his favorite F1 drivers, Sheeran did give a shout-out to Mercedes team-mate George Russell, who currently sits ahead of Hamilton in the overall standings.

Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, is still in search of his first podium finish of the year as he prepares to make the switch from Mercedes to Ferrari. With reigning champion Max Verstappen dominating the season so far with four wins out of five races, Hamilton faces a tough challenge ahead.

Sheeran and Hamilton have crossed paths before, with a memorable race on The Jonathan Ross Show back in 2014. Despite not naming Hamilton as one of his current favorites, Sheeran did share a fun moment with the veteran driver in the past.

As Hamilton gears up for the Miami Grand Prix, where he has previously finished sixth in both editions of the race, fans are eager to see if he can turn his season around and secure a strong result. With Sheeran in attendance to support his favorite team Ipswich Town, the excitement is palpable both on and off the track.
