American Express Partners with F1 Academy for Miami Race and Small Business Support Initiative
American Express has announced its partnership with F1 ACADEMY ahead of the Miami race, set to take place from May 3-5. This collaboration aims to support women in sport and empower female athletes both on and off the track.
British driver Jessica Edgar has been selected as the new ambassador for American Express, representing the #17 car for Rodin Motorsport. Edgar will not only be racing in a custom American Express race suit but will also be involved in promoting initiatives to empower female athletes.
As part of the partnership, American Express will feature local small businesses on the car livery at F1 ACADEMY races, alongside Shop Small® branding. This initiative highlights the valuable contributions that small businesses make to their communities and aims to support women-owned businesses.
To kick off the partnership, American Express and F1 ACADEMY have organized a special event called “A Celebration of Women with Drive” on May 1 in Miami. The event will celebrate women in business and sports, with special guest Camila Cabello in attendance.
One of the featured Miami small businesses on the American Express livery is Caja Caliente, a local female-founded Cuban restaurant owned by Monica “Mika” Leon. This partnership not only showcases the impact of women-owned businesses but also highlights the importance of supporting local communities.
With other powerful brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Charlotte Tilbury, PUMA, Pirelli, and Red Bull also supporting F1 ACADEMY, the motorsport world is making strides towards empowering women and closing the gender gap in the industry. The collaboration between American Express and F1 ACADEMY is a step in the right direction towards achieving gender equality in motorsport.
